Week 6A: Alternate Assignment

The Churchboy Beats business page for Facebook was created when we decided to start the company in January of 2017. It seems that the number of followers for our Facebook page is decreasing. We currently have 78 followers, but we had 85 when we started the page. Typically, the only activity that comes from the page are from the Instagram posts that we link to Facebook and Twitter. Since we do not usually get engagement from our followers on Facebook, we tend to post to Instagram more. Sometimes we will link the posts to Facebook, but we usually don't because unfortunately we do not get any interaction from our followers. Personally I just don't think we're using Facebook correctly for our business because we cannot operate it the same way we would Instagram which is just pictures and videos with emoji captions. I am confident that once we learn how to utilize it correctly it will work in our favor. After doing some research I came across 3 similar businesses on Facebook.

Week 5B: Defining My Target Market

Churchboy Beats is a music production company, and we are open to working with anyone who is an aspiring singer or rapper pursuing a career in music. We offer a variety of services such as custom beat making, professional sound recording, mixing/mastering, songwriting, music consulting, and artist development. Due to the fact that we offer these services, we can satisfy the needs of independent artists as well as professionals in the music industry. Specifically speaking, I would say that our target audience is made up of two distinct groups. The first group are the music creatives who are at least 18 years in age and preferably reside in Southern California. We are not opposed to working with people in other states, it just makes it difficult to guarantee high quality and professional product when we send a musical track to someone out of state and they have to go to a different producer to help them record a song to the musical track. If that other producer doesn't hold the same

Week 5A: Defining your target market

After reviewing the Subway and Hungry Bear websites, I have concluded that there are several differences between the two company websites. The first difference is that they use different color schemes to grab the consumers' attention. For instance, Subway utilizes vibrant colors that grab your attention like yellow, green, and white. While Hungry Bear on the other hand uses more dull colors on their website such as tan, maroon, black, and white. In regards to the visual appearance of the website, beside the colors, Hungry Bear lists the company favorite items on the homepage. Which gets straight to the point and helps a new customer get a general idea of what they are famous for. As for Subway, the homepage lists the new sandwich, as well as other information that they feel is important for customers to know. Based on my observations of both of the websites I would say that the demographics are the same between them. I think that the target market is adults that enjoy a good sand

Week 4A: Aesthetics, Design, and Branding

After viewing the Jami Lin Passions (jamilin.com) website, I have found a few things that may be potential problems for visitors. The first potential problem is that it feels that the content is somewhat clumped together because it is not spaced out in a way that makes it visually appealing. For example, the header has several pictures and a lot of information in one rectangular box. As you go down the page, it just seems like a lot of information to digest. The second problem is that the website is kind of monochromatic. There aren't many vibrant colors that make the page feel inviting. The last problem is that it just doesn't seem simple enough to get to the point. The second website is Gates N Fences (gatesnfences.com). The first potential problem is that the besides the title and header font, all the font is the same size so it is hard to indicate what is the most important information to view first. The second issue is that the menu runs along the side of the page and f

Week 3B: Examples of Businesses

The list of businesses that are similar to mine & my husband's music production company: Tico Hudson Productions ticohudsonproductions.com The social media platforms that he is using are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. The Instagram seems to be the main one used recently. The Twitter seems like it's linked to the Instagram account so what ever is posted on Instagram automatically is posted to his Twitter. The other links haven't been used in at least a month. Latest social media posts: Facebook: February 09, 2019 Twitter: January 31, 2019 YouTube: January 05, 2019 Instagram: February 09, 2019 Overall it appears as though this business is using their social media consistently. Pull pullpullpull.com The company does not have any social media links displayed on their website. When I tried to google the company only their website appeared in the google search. One of the producers who co-owns the business uses his Twitter account for person

Week 3A: Communication - Business and Consumer

Yes, I have had many instances where I had a hard time communicating with a business. It really did not matter if I called them on the telephone, or spoke with them online via the "chat" pop up.  I do not feel that social media makes it easier to get the problem resolved. It has helped to get our company noticed by other professionals. They now follow our Instagram page which is pretty cool because that opens the door to network with seasoned professionals in our industry.  Recently I contacted another music producer who has already reached the level of success that my husband and I are trying to reach with our music production company. Although, the producer stated that he was too busy to meet with us, he did provide information that will help us grow the business and put us on the right path to reach success in the music industry. We love the positive comments. That encourages us that we are running the business right! We have never received negative comments about our
